Infectious Disease
Bird Flu Today Public Awareness Campaign

Welcome to the Koshland Science Museum Infectious Disease Webquest! Over the past few years, bird flu –or avian influenza – has been a hot topic in the news. Scientists, policy makers, and the public alike are all concerned about the potential of an influenza epidemic within this decade. Using this Internet-based webquest activity, you will learn about the science that is needed to effectively study infectious diseases and how they spread. More importantly, you will have an opportunity to take on the role of a policy advocate, where you will make recommendations to the public or policy makers about how Americans should handle the potential arrival of an avian influenza epidemic.
